Following the Leader...

...the leader, the leader; We're following the leader where ever he may go!

It's been, like, an eternity since I've written on here. March 2nd, 2010... that was what, 13 days ago?! Bad Jazmine, bad! No longer shall I keep my 36 awesome followers waiting! It seems as though now that most of us have either gotten our acceptance or rejection letters the chaos seems to be subsiding. People aren't chatting as much in meebo, vlogs aren't being posted every few days, and no one is obsessively blogging-- well, because there isn't much to talk about! I will have to compile a new list of things to blog and vlog about so that I can keep this up-and-coming, bombDOTcom journey new, hip, and funky-fresh. Once I have a day off and can actually get back to a normal sleeping pattern, I will be updating and vlogging way more frequently, so never fear! I'm not going to update you on the boringness of my life, but here are the top five highlights and happenings going on in my life.

One. Found roommate number four. Her name is Kristen & I think she will fit us quite well. I haven't had the chance to talk with her much yet, but that's mostly because a large chunk of the Disney excitement has died down. I'm sure once summer hits & we get closer to August 9th, we'll all get the ball rolling.
Two. It's been crunch time at school. All of this DCP-ness has gotten me off track. I'd hate to miss out on an opportunity as awesome as this all because I can't manage to keep a descent GPA.
Three. Slavery is much in full effect in the United States. When I mean slavery, I am referring to the ridiculous amount of work I do at my job. Make that two jobs. I haven't officially started the second one yet, but I can tell it's going to make me meet my demise.
Four. Oh yeah... I got my purple folder! Let's just say it didn't come as I expected, which you'll see if you watch my Purple Folder Vlog. After you watch that you'll see why I didn't post the excited "I GOT MY FOLDER" post on here, but I intend to take pictures and have an appropriate tribute to my purple folder when the new one arrives. (Of COURSE I called Disney for a new one... did you think I was going to flaunt that horrid thing around?!)
Five. I am now apparently going to be auditioning in Pittsburg, PA with my girl Alyssa B. on March 26, 2010 at 4:00pm so if you are going, I'll see you there! Personally I'm content with Merchandise, but it would be rather AWESOME to be a parade performer or face character (although my chances are close to zero that that will happen.) Still, it should be a fun experience.

Since I'm frequently up during all hours of the morning and night, please entertain me, love me, ask me, comment me, etc. by formspring.me. It gives me something to do.

Also, I haven't done one of these in a while, so it's time for a new segment of
I REMEMBER THAT!

The Jersey is about Nick Lighter, Morgan Hudson, Coleman Galloway, and Elliot Riffkin, four teens who discover the magic of "the jersey", a mystical Oklahoma Sooners football jersey that transports them into the bodies of professional athletes. Personally, I am at a loss of why Disney took this show off the air and replaced it with the lame-ities of the Wizards of Waverly Place and JONAS, but whatever makes you money right? This was show was in the day where many DC series were unisex and boys (and tomboys) could enjoy good tv. I salute you The Jersey.

I've just had a thought! (Who knew my brain could function ideas at this time?!) I'm going to have a "Supreme I REMEMBER THAT!" Vlog. I even have the perfect song for it! Also, from looking at many people's blogs--can't remember who's but it's been a couple-- and I would like to get in on this whole ABCs of Disney. A lot of people I think are doing just movies but I want to build off of this idea... we'll just have to see! Also, if you haven't checked out my youtube channel I have four, count 'em, FOUR vlogs up now, so check those out and subscribe!

That's all I got for now. I'm going to try and do something productive (what can you do productive at 4am? who knows...) but something tells me this is going to be a fail.

Have a Magical Day!

A Mouse's Life For Me!

So I have finally accepted my invitation!
I paid the $104 fee and selected my dates.
Here’s the rundown:

Name: Jazmine
Program: Fall 2010
Arrival: August 9, 2010
Departure: January 7, 2011
Role: Merchandise

I wanted to talk a little about the role I’ve been selected for and what I’m most excited about. As a merchandise cast member it is possible for me to work the standalone carts, the pin trading booths, and in of the shops in the parks, resorts, and Downtown Disney. You may be thinking being a merchandise CM is just like any other retail job-- in a sense, yes, but there is so much more. Even though merchandise was my third choice, there are a lot of things I’m excited about. For starters, there is the direct guest interaction. I love being around people so getting to talk to guests about their Disney experience and Disney in general is awesome. I’m also excited about the costumes. I know some are a little funky, but where else can you find a job where you look completely ridiculous and get paid for it? Next: Pin trading. I’m not into this myself, but when I went to Disneyland with my ASB I saw my advisor’s young daughter trading with CMs and random guests and it was sort of exciting. I want to be apart of something like that. I’m super excited about working with a large team. I can’t wait to meet all of my fellow cast members! I really wouldn’t like to do a cart only because I don’t want to stand all by myself for an 8 hour shift, but I wouldn’t mind doing a glow cart or something at night.

Personally, there are four spots I wouldn’t mind working.
One. Tink’s Treasures - Magic Kingdom. This is my number one request as of right now. When the park opens, the first guest that comes to the store has the opportunity to “wake Tinkerbell”. I would just love to see the happiness on the faces of these kids when they see her wake up and hear the music play.
Two. Main Street Shops - Magic Kingdom. Who doesn’t love the Main Street Shops?! I love the ambiance and the overall feeling of Main Street. Since it’s such a high traffic area, I’m bound to get a lot of guest interaction! The downside with one and two-- Magic Kingdom is generally open the latest. This could mean shifts going into the AM.
Three. Anywhere in Disney’s Hollywood Studios - (except that one store that sells Jonas Bros and Hannah Montana stuff). Though it’s not my favorite park, DHS has some of the coolest stores all around.
Four. Anywhere in Animal Kingdom. This is for selfish reasons, but AK is one of my favorite parks (right along with Epcot). Animal Kingdom closes at the latest 8pm, and it would be nice to have evenings to myself to explore Florida.
Five. I would love to do glow carts if I got MK or DHS!

I’m going to have to send Disney Recruiting an email. For anyone thinking of requesting a location, just keep in mind that it is a request not a guarentee. It’s generally better to give them a general idea on where you’d like to be placed, not a “do-or-die” spot (i.e. I have to work at Mousegears!) that way you won’t be mega disappointed or stuck somewhere you absolutely hate.

To pass the time, here are my Top Five Books About Disney:
1. Frommer’s Walt Disney World & Orlando 2010 - Has some great information about Universal Studios as well as Walt Disney World.
2. Birnbaum Guides 2010 Walt Disney World - Gives examples on the best places to eat, drink, shop, and stay on the Disney property & has color maps of the parks.
3. The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2010 - Has a complete dining guide of WDW restaurants and an Attractions guide. It really gives you an overall, in-depth picture of what WDW has to offer.
4. Fodor’s Walt Disney World 2010 Plus Universal Orlando and Sea World - Title says it all. Gives you an in-depth look at all the attractions and some ideas of other cool things to do besides the typical day at the parks.
5. The Walt Disney World Trivia Book Vol. 2 - Get to know about the ins and outs, secrets, history, and fun facts behind the magic.

Here's the February 23rd edition of I REMEMBER THAT!

Jett Jackson is a tv star who in pursuit of a relatively normal life succeeds in getting the production of his show Silverstone (about a spy who works for Mission Omega Matrix in order to save the world from villains like Dr. Hypnoto and the Rat) moved to his hometown of Wilsted, NC. There he lives with his father, Sheriff Wood Jackson, and his great-grandmother, Miz Coretta while getting into sticky situations with his best friend, B.J. and his not-quite girlfriend Kayla. I was in love with Jett Jackson. So gorgeous! (: "It's the famous Jett Jackson!"

Why Should I Worry?

Today is officially the one week anniversary of my interview! I'm trying to get focused in school again... this Disney waiting is getting me off track. I need to make sure I'm taking care of my school work so that if I don't get into the College Program, then I still have good grades!

I'm already trying to think of things I want to blog about if I get in (I hope I'm not getting too ahead of myself!). I'll be making lists (i.e. outlets for information about the DCP, what to pack, etc.) and information about certain aspects of the DCP (i.e. Housing, Scheduling, Traditions, etc.). But meanwhile, I'll just tell you my top five reasons why I want to do the Disney College Program and why I want to right now.

One. Who doesn't love Disney?
Even if you don't love it, most people like it.

Two. It's a company that has such a large fan base and following that they are always growing and expanding. To work for a company like that with so many opportunities in many different areas is a great for someone who wants to start a career that they love.

Three. Disney holds a special place in my heart. All of my most wonderful memories of when I was a kid and my parents were together, Disney was involved-- whether it was going to watch Aladdin in the movies or our family trips to WDW. My mom and I aren't very close, but Disney brings us together, even if it's for a brief moment.

Four. This is an excellent time for me to do it. I am enrolled in community college and this is my last semester before I would transfer to a university. This way I don't have to pay ridiculous tuition and can try something new and it wouldn't be a waste. I also will be hopefully going to Medical school, so this is pretty much my only chance to do something like this. I am all about opportunities and new experiences and Disney has been such a positive influence in my life that I know good things will come from it.

Five. Disney has taught me many life lessons that until now I didn't even realize-- tolerance, importance of family, love, friendship, compassion-- and the Disney College Program gives me a chance to give something back.

I hope that gives you a little insight on how much getting into this program means to me. If you are looking into applying, it helps that you have some connection to Disney, a love or passion, because it makes the long 16 hour shifts not seem so bad.

Now its time for...
I REMEMBER THAT!

Bug Juice is a reality series that premiered on February 28, 1998. The series focused around 20 kids & their experiences at summer camp. Together, the kids worked hard to excel in their activities and become friends. I always wanted to go to these camps. It looked so fun. So, being the tech savvy child I was, I looked it up. $1600 for a 5 week session. Not to mention the cost of a plane ticket to get all the way to Maine. Guess that means I wasn't going to Camp Waziyatah. Call it the One Tree Hill and Real World for kids.

Here's the youtube video of the first episode:
